National Meat Free Week is starting next week! Why go meat free? It encourages you to think about how much meat you eat, where your meat comes from and the impact eating too much meat has on your health, the environment and animals. In the process, you can raise some money for some very worthy charities.
If you are vegetarian and vegan you can still get involved, Meat Free Week creates an opportunity for you to encourage meat loving friends or family to take a break from meat for one week and discover some great meat free and plant based alternatives.
Here are some ideas to get involved:
- Ask some meat loving friends to sign up for the challenge
- Offer to cook dinner for them one night during their meat free week
- Arrange a night out at a vegetarian or vegan restaurant or café with your friends and family
- Host a dinner party where everyone brings a vegetarian or vegan plate
